I've been pretty quiet too, since I've only been around in the fandom for a few months now, and I don't really think I have all that much to contribute at the moment? I've been a bit low on inspiration myself lately, but that may be just because of my situation at the moment ^-^;

I really like the idea of an annual week, and if we decide and announce the themes for each day fairly early, then hopefully people will have time to see it and prepare their things ahead of time. Events for birthdays and special events seems like a good idea as well.... I also really like the idea of a No. 6 day every month, as was discussed earlier... I just think it might keep the fandom a bit more lively, and I always love finding new fan works.

Thanks for your answers.

Well, I started Shion's Birthday event and Children's Day now... ^^ Well...and then... we'll see if we wanna do more in the future...and if we want to do it regularly or not. Depends on how people will react to the new event. They should have enough time now :) (I think one month is more than enough...)

So, should we pick up this post for future No.6 Day events, or start a new thread?

It's the same idea...so we should keep this blog.

To be honest, I think we can do No. 6 days each month, but keep them simple.
No special topic. Nothing at all... just a reminder each month, that we'll have No. 6 day on the 6th... and that this day is dedicated to No. 6 and that we invited them to reblog or create new stuff.
Just keeping it in general...

We can also have some special events from time to time, but maybe not too often. Like Shion's birthday... maybe Christmas... then maybe something like a Reunion Day...

I think we tried too hard in the past. We tried to hard to make special things. That was exhausting...  In the end we should just have fun and relax a bit.

Right, if there's too much pressure it'll take away the fun. Let's try to keep things casual so that everyone can have fun.

Passions shouldn't eat up people's lives^^ it should be something that makes people happy. When it stops doing so, it's not worth it.

Reunion Day sounds nice too. When could that be? After all many people think Nezumi would come back on one of Shion's birthdays, so maybe we could couple that with Shion's birthday event?

Right... I just think it could be a little motivation boost...
And even if there are just some people who want to participate, when they have fun and like it, it's worth it.

Ah, that was just an example. It's right, reunion day is something for Shion's birthday.
I just thought we could have 3-4 special events each year... not a No. 6 week, since that's way too much pressure again... but once in a while we could do something special. I mean it's not that much work to do. We just have to dedice when we want to do this and advertise it a bit. We don't need to plan that much then, especially when we take really popular topics. Maybe West Block Day in February... NezuShi Day in May, Shion's birthday + Reunion Day in September, and something else in December...

And this year... we could have Holy Day around Christmas time... So people could do Christmas Stuff...or celebrating stuff... or letting the characters smile and have fun while having a little party. Maybe something like that, something positive.

Oh yes, Holy Day/Christmas could be nice!
Those characters deserve some cheesy happiness sometimes after all, they've seen enough bad things for several lives (>_<)

Right :3 Maybe Holy Day should be between Xmas and the new year? I guess most people will be busy during the holidays... Or before Xmas? But I guess they'll be busy then, too. X'D

And No. 6 day... we could start that in December as well.. or we could have one next month... but it's too short until the 6th... don't think we can manage it.

Hmmm, if we plan No.6 Day on the 6th of each month, we could assume that January 6th is also dedicated to stories about the Holy Day? This wouldn't add another No.6 Event, it just makes this one a themed-one. And it'll be after the holidays, so maybe people would have had time to think about it and prepare something?

November 6th is definitely too early though, so December 6th sounds like a good start!

Hmm... yeah, that's probably not good, too... or we'll just do it in December... When they know it early enough it should be ok. ^^° or we just say xmas... some people might post something for xmas anyway. I think it's a stupid time in general, but wen we tell them a month before xmas there should be enough time to do something. I mean you can queue stuff when you're not there. So it's a second reason for them to draw a christmas card. XD (And since there's nothing like Christmas in No. 6, it's just the Holy Day festival.)

I like the idea of calling Christmas (or the days around then ... or January 6th, whatever really xD) 'The Holy Day' ^^ And yeah, I think that's a reasonable number of special events for the year.

I don't think we could make it until November 6th either. Maybe it would be best to start with Christmas like already suggested.

I tried to leave something and here it is xD All in all: Good job, guys ^^" My head is empty so I can't contribute anything special right now (not even ideas), sorry ...

I guess we don't even need that many ideas. XD We should rather focus on those we already have and make them become reality. I guess that's more than enough.

Ah, Christmas/Holy Day sounds like a great idea! And gives us enough time to come up with something, too, as this is nice and well in advance.
And a monthly reminder is great as well, since you don't always have to participate but still have enough time to come up with something before the next 6th of the month in case inspiration does strike. It's less 'all or nothing' than an annual event.

If enough people feel like it, maybe a mini-big bang would be nice? Though I guess that's also a big thing, but then you have collaborative efforts and if you plan the deadlines out far enough in advance, it should be doable. Just throwing that out here so that it sounds like I'm contributing, because whoa, you've thought out a lot already!

What's that? o.o I've never heard about a big bang collaboration? Deadlines? :3 Can somebody please explain?

Ahh, sorry! (I never know how familiar these things are to other people) Here is a link that explains it: http://fanlore.org/wiki/Big_Bang

Basically, a big bang means that both authors and artists sign up at the start to either write a long fic (I think the usual minimum is 20k-50k words, but some put it at 10k or lower) or make art. The authors post summaries and/or partial drafts for the first deadline, at which point they either get assigned artists or the artists get to pick a story based on the summary/draft (usually this is a blind pick, so you don't know who wrote it until the mod brings you in contact with your author). The artists then create artwork in whatever medium they use to go with the fic. You can also reverse it, so artists create art first and the authors pick these and write a story.

It's quite fun to do, especially with blind picks, since you might get to talk to someone you've never really spoken to before, and work together to make something nice. The only problem is that you really need enough people to sign up, especially for fic (as it's usually easier to create multiple artworks than it is to create multiple long fics in the same amount of time). Plus, it needs to be moderated. And of course, there are deadlines involved, though these usually stretch over quite some weeks and the big bangs I participated in had some checkpoints halfway through, to keep you motivated.

I hope that explained it, otherwise let me know!
