@EnglishCivilWar: ahhh I hope you get the chance to write them out then! But using your time to think about Nezushi is v good way to spend time yes~
(-squints- hang on is that Sora and Riku I spy in your icon)

my mother keeps calling our puppy a little rat and he's blue-black and has grey eyes and if I ever call him Nezumi by accident it is NOT my fault okay

@Ghosty: wow that is A Bad Idea, So So Bad. Yikes ;;; -hands you all the tissues-

... Somehow I've never replied to this fic despite the very OBVIOUS where I couldn't replay Kingdom Hearts 3D without seeing constant, constant NezuShi parallels and here we are, two years down the road with me still cursing over this massive crossover I'm writing between the two.

(Also I have a thing for voice actors and I'm maybe a little more excited than strictly necessary when Kaji and Hosoya are in the same anime, huhu.)

@Ghosty: my favourite character is all of them and my favourite team is all of them, haha. No I really can't choose, I like pretty much everyone for different reasons. I guess I'd pick Karasuno by default right now just because they're on screen the most? Sorry, boring answer ;; (Maybe Nekoma in terms of not-main-team team then, if I have to pick) How about you? Oh gosh and how did that beach trip work out XD

@Kai: ugh yikes that is not nice at all ._. Like Ahiku said, those things can be damaging and also it's not even true in your case? The heck.

Ehm. Well 'looking for a job' is a horrible job, I guess? XD; (well technically I'm employed as freelance, and I'll be at the book store for two weeks this summer, which isn't horrible so idk if that even counts.)

^ Is hopefully at least enjoying a good weekend because bwahhh ._. and take care for this horror week!
< should be writing her column about her recently deceased dog but is instead trying very hard not to write a super silly crossover fic. In addition to the one she was already writing. Yeah I know.
v has an unreplied text waiting for them to get back to!

Hi there Caroline! It's so nice to meet you and great that you discovered No. 6! I hope you're enjoying the manga so far, as you have probably noticed one volume from the end it's slightly different from the anime sometimes (as are the novels). I always feel slightly sadistic for telling people to enjoy No. 6, haha.

Feel free to poke around in the threads, revive some old ones or start something new, and I hope you'll enjoy your stay here!!

Omigosh I was always wondering where people even got those! This is great~ I can't stop clicking haha.

@Ahiku: Nezumi getting lost makes a lot of sense if you take his voice actor into account XD (I know you don't like Free! but iirc Sousuke was also terrible at directions so I've seen the joke made, haha)

Shion is a super hero hiding their secret identity from Nezumi.
How the heck would he do that he's as subtle as ten bricks XD

Shion as a film noir detective and Nezumi as the desperate client.
... maybe I should switch them around, haha.

Shion, a knight in shining armor, must rescue the distressed Nezumi.
I'm sorry I should really switch them around by now but I AM LAUGHING SO HARD HELP

This thing is cheating indeed. XD

....... wow okay, so I came here to share a song and I TOTALLY MISSED THAT RECOMMENDATION. I've heard the phrase 'angel with a shotgun' before (for Shion at least, also for other fandoms) but I had never actually listened to the song and it fits so well, thanks for sharing @Kaoru! I hope you're still around somewhere, it'd be nice to see you here again ^^

But yes I came here to shamelessly revive this topic because I was looking up Taylor Swift's album 1989 the other day and, well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVAfR3QjFKo

Taylor Swift - Out of the woods

(...)

Looking at it now, last December
We were built to fall apart, then fall back together
Your necklace hanging from my neck,
The night we couldn't quite forget
When we decided (We decided)
To move the furniture so we could dance
Baby, like we stood a chance

(...)

Remember when you hit the brakes too soon
Twenty stitches in a hospital room
When you started crying
Baby, I did too
But when the sun came up
I was looking at you
Remember when we couldn't take the heat
I walked out, I said, I'm setting you free
But the monsters turned out to be just trees
When the sun came up
You were looking at me

... okay those last three lines are just hopeful on my side, but ssh. ;) And the woods, well. I thought it fit. But tbh I will make every song fit No. 6 these days. (Implying I didn't do that before, ahem)

Ah, it's great that you're supporting the manga release! I hope you'll get your copies soon~ The scanlators indeed stopped once the series got licensed after Kodansha asked them to, but they did provide summaries for the later chapters. (If you're really impatient, you can check out the links page of the restructuralcommittee blog for summaries and raws.)

I'd definitely recommend reading the novels as well! 9th avenue has the translations up right here; the manga keeps to the novels fairly well, but of course it can't convey everything the novels have to offer. There's a lot of character introspection and some great scenes that the manga had to skip. Of course, in some cases an image says more than a thousand words, but you can only cram so many thought balloons into a single page.

I looked up The Song of Achilles and it sounded really interesting!  I hadn't heard of it before, but I'm definitely going to put it on my to-read list, I'm very curious now. (Actually, I think I saw Rick Riordan had commented on it on goodreads? So I'm not sure if you mentioned him on purpose, but that was  a funny coincidence then. And yeah, he writes super quickly O_O Binge-read the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series a while ago and I was amazed that most of them were only a year apart at most. What the heck.)

(Ah yeah, we know about the censoring issue, sorry about that ^^; it's built in. I think it's been tried to change it but I'm not sure if that's possible. At least it doesn't censor hard and core separately then...)

Hi there @jjbinkes! Great to see your here at the forum, I hope you'll enjoy your stay here =)

I must confess I haven't read 'The Song of Achilles' and it's been a while since I read (parts of) the Iliad, but you make interesting points. It fits quite well, doesn't it? If memory serves, Achilles was a lot kinder towards Patroclus than he was towards others, which sounds suspiciously familiar... Achilles' heel indeed.
Looking at the Iliad, Achilles' wrath over being dishonored by Agamemnon is a central theme, which kind of ties in with Nezumi's will to take revenge on the city. (In which case that would make Agamemnon No. 6?) I think the gods meddle in at Achilles' request as well, hm...
I'm actually not sure, but my memory seems to insist Patroclus, until he went on his rampage, wasn't really considered a fighter at all, or at least a good fighter (or well, not as good as Achilles, but then again, that's Achilles). Which you could relate to no-one thinking Shion would harm anyone - until you hurt Nezumi, that is.

Well, it doesn't match up 100% of course, but those are certainly interesting parallels~ I wonder if reading the manga will lead to you coming up with more, since it's slightly different than the anime in places (I think I can state that much without spoiling ^^).

Karan's Bakery / Re: When and how did you become a No. 6 fan? :D
« on: May 20, 2015, 12:46:02 pm »
@Ahiku: okay I swear I thought you were on tumblr since like the start of the anime or something XD; just feels like you've been around forever. But yikes, talking about fun ways to discover new things >_< well hopefully No. 6 helped you recover very quickly? ^^;;;
Ahh and Routasu/Lancha's art is super lovely indeed~

Hmmm my story is a bit all over the place. Back in February 2012, my long-time friend introduced me to a couple of manga series at the same time. (She has a habit of introducing things to me that end up taking over my life tbh XD; idk how she does it, but she does.) One of them was No. 6, which was still being scanlated at the time, so I rushed through the manga until that point (chapter 13 - conveniently the one after the kiss, ahem) and got really excited, but I'm really bad at keeping up with running series, especially if they're monthly. So I think I did read up whenever there was an update, but I frequently forgot, oops.

Then in April 2013, same friend brought up No. 6 again and mentioned there were novels - I knew they existed, but wasn't aware that they were floating around online, so I jumped on them and read them in a couple of days. Annnd then I immediately ordered them in Japanese for practice. XD;
I watched the anime with my friend not too long after, but I think that was the wrong order and I haven't rewatched the anime since because it kind of fell flat to me after the novels and the manga. S-sorry. I do love the ED a ton though!
