No. 6 music
« on: May 12, 2014, 07:24:06 pm »
This is a board to share songs that you think fit No. 6 somehow! It's okay if they're in another language (feel free to translate some lyrics for us) or even if they're instrumental.

Let's get this party started!

Here are a few of my own favourites:
A sad song for Nezumi on the road:
Blue Caravan, by Vienna Teng

He said, "Go where you have to,
for I belong to you until my dying day."
So like a fool, Blue Caravan,
I believed him, and I walked away

A slightly sad Nezushi song:
Bloodsport by Raleigh Ritchie

Although you love me, sometimes we meet
Things can get ugly but we're still a team
We are an army, the brakes are within
But that's why we're stronger, and that's how we'll win

This is just forever my NezuShi song.

And this song fits pretty close and I'm pretty sure I cried the first five times I listened to this song. And right now. I just started crying right now. Shoot.

Also, what about a place to put covers of No.6 music? Can that go here, too?

AHHH YES RADICAL FACE okay. I think their song Welcome Home is good for a Nezushi reunion.

Peel the scars from off my back,
I don't need them anymore
You can throw them out
Or keep them in your mason jars

Perhaps we ought to start a new thread for covers? They're a bit of a different kettle of fish. I haven't got any covers to post, so perhaps you could do it? =)

I actually don't have any covers done yet, but everyone in my apartment left this weekend so I have the whole place to myself which means all the recording I want...

If no one else makes that thread before I have something to share, I'll start that. But at the moment, I've got nothing.

Oh I absolutely love this post! So many songs remind me of No.6...
Here's two for the moment:

Lifehouse - From Where You Are

I always think of Nezushi when I listen to this song, I feel like this could fit perfectly to the time they're apart before their reunion.

Gabrielle Aplin - Salvation

This song sounds so beautiful to me, and somehow always makes me think of Nezumi and how Shion changed his life.

Oh and I would love to hear your covers @Weisel !
Ahiku already posted hers in the Theater section: http://no6.createaforum.com/the-theater/(masterpost)-ahiku's-no-6-cover/
So you can create a new post over there for your covers as well! (we're trying to keep it one post per artist this way it's easy to access someone's work!)
“How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart, you begin to understand, there is no going back?
There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep... that have taken hold.”

This thread is great for so many reasons xD

Also!

Whenever I listen to this song, I can see it from both Shion and Nezumi's perspective. It's good to see another choice from Gabrielle Aplin @Yuneyn ! Her music is really beautiful.
we only go so far.

So I've got 40+ hours of driving to do in less than a month and I've been making playlists for the trip... I don't know if making a NezuShi playlist from all of your contributions would be a fantastic or terrible idea. Everything is so beautiful, but I also don't want to cry while driving.

I'll probably end up doing it anyway. Just keep adding to this thread until I have at least 20 hours of music.

Ah I hope you have a safe journey :) haha, yes, all of these contributions are great and wow A+ guaranteed to make you sob. I forgot to add this one in too, it reminds me of each other's feelings after parting. T__T I like to think that, no matter what happens, of course they'll meet again.

we only go so far.

@sshion @yuneyn EXCELLENT MUSIC thank you for sharing!! i'm expanding my playlist right now.

@Weisel well if that's the case, I have more where that came from.

https://soundcloud.com/jonhopkins/jon-hopkins-monsters-theme this beautiful song I associate with No. 6 thanks to this post: http://vox-clamantis-in-deserto.tumblr.com/post/73613872570/nadzo3-7-00-pm-here-why-cant-i-just-sleep-like (which you may have already seen, since it's so popular!)

also Oceanside, by Alex Wong ft Ximena Sariñana:

Everybody finds a way
Everybody must survive
You will learn your lesson
You will learn to pick a side

To me it really speaks to the days they spent in the underground room together...

In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel:

Love, I get so lost, sometimes
days pass, and this emptiness fills my heart
when I want to run away I drive off in my car
but whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are

Ahh, I meant to reply to this thread earlier but I got distracted, oops. Anyway, I really associate this song with the later Correctional Facility events:

Bleeding out - Imagine Dragons

Oh, you tell me to hold on
But innocence is gone
And what was right is wrong

'Cause I'm bleeding out
So if the last thing that I do
Is to bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So I bare my skin
And I count my sins
And I close my eyes
And I take it in
And I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you

(Actually I associate more of their songs with No. 6, which may or may not be the reason I bought the album, haha. This was the first one I latched onto, however.)

And someone else I definitely want to mention is KOKIA, a Japanese singer-songwriter. (I'm quite a fan of her, so I'm a bit biased and tend to connect her songs to all the things I love, ssh.) She often sings about nature itself and the human nature, also themes in No. 6. I struggle to bring up just one song, so have two of my absolute favourites:

Chouwa oto ~with reflection~ - KOKIA (sound of harmony)

She starts to reverse the Japanese sounds in the second part of the song, which is why it may sound a little funny. Translation from here:

In the midst of the silence, a single drop
Causes a ripple that spreads through the water at the bottom of the well

The winter wind shakes the forest in my noisy heart
The things that can live with it stay as they are

Everyone who has heard the quiet voice in this forest has shed tears at noise

3 25 15 21 23 1
(this spells 'Cyouwa', harmony - next are the reversed lyrics)

Ceaselessly and quietly forest this in sounds of cacophony the
Heart noisy my in peace restore

Born is born is born is sound a
Sounds of sea the into sinks sinks sinks and
Born is born is born is sound a
Sounds of sea the with in blends blends blends and

I can't help but think of Nezumi's background, and of Shion in the very beginning with the storm.

And finally:

Kodoku na ikimono - KOKIA (Lonely beings)

This post is getting rather long, but I translated the lyrics over here. This is mostly a gut feeling in combination with the title.

Apologies for the length and the late reply!

Thank you all for the latest music suggestion!!!

@listenforthelove I think I fell in love with Kodoku Na Ikimono... It's so incredibly beautiful. I need it in my playlist now^^ If you have other suggestions from KOKIA don't hesitate to send me a MP, I'm always glad to add more Japanese songs to my playlists! (I saw you were a fan on your asterinjapan tumblr^^ it's nice that you got to see her twice in concert!!)

So many nice songs *-*

I also want to share one...

Sorry, it's just a fandub, lol XD I'm too lazy to search a proper version. That's why the English sounds so horrible. But I just wanted to sing it because the song reminded me of Nezumi and Shion...

Sitting in the garden, walking on the road
I feel so sad, I feel alone
I try to hide the way I feel inside
Can't you see the sparkles in my eyes?

Sadness and fear are waiting ahead
Wherever you'll be I know we'll be friends
Would you be mine if I could melt your heart?
Would you see the sparkles in my eyes?

I'll be waiting for you
I swear I'll be waiting
Come rain or come shine
I will wait for you, my friend
I'll be searching for you I swear
Day and night I will wait

I think there are parts for both of them in this song...
Nezumi's on the road, searching for his own self and maybe he'll start to search his way back to him when he has finally realized that he needs him. Both feel alone. And Shion's sad. (Nezumi, too... probably. XD)
Shion's waiting, and he'll always wait for him, no matter what happens.

OMG... I just heard this song and can't stop laughing, because I imaginged Shion singing it and sending a singing telegram to Nezumi. ^^° I wonder how Nezumi would react. I guess it would make him run away even more. ^^°Especially when Shion sents it with this kind of background...
