I see :) Yeah, I totally agree with this. I really like how you put that.
Inukashi is much more healthy in expressing their feelings and Safu really seems to - I don't know - shield herself from her feelings and the world with her scientific side. Though she's very emotional when she meets Shion in the Correctional Facility so I think she can be truly emotional if her feelings are strong enough.

I don't know. Yeah, I think a dog feeling like that would growl. But only if the hand would come too close. I mean, it's better to reject a friendly gesture than getting hit, right? So it's denying the contact altogether but waiting long enough to eventually get a sign of the true intent. At least some dogs. If I imagine a dog with human understanding (which Inukashi is, somehow) - because you wouldn't let go a chance of friendly contact either, right?
Well, you could see it as Inukashi having a kind of ... wary expression but altogether they wouldn't threaten Safu just for trying to get closer to them. Uhm ... yeah, I got too caught up in explaining this metaphor xD
