I definitely agree with you. Nezumi ran because he had been tied down by No. 6 for so long, and it was the thing that blocked his vision of Shion. He needed to look at the world as a whole and not just as how No. 6 affected it, and that applied to Shion as well. That doesn't mean that I think what he did was okay as to how it applied to Shion, but I understand why.

As for Nezumi's feeling for Shion, I think he was still in slight denial of them when he left. Maybe not on purpose, probably just in confusion. He had never experienced any level of love before, much less caring, so I doubt he fully understands his feelings.
