AMV that got me into No. 6
« on: May 14, 2014, 01:44:35 pm »
I wanted to share this AMV with you all, because if I hadn't watched it, I wouldn't be in this fandom. It's truly a wonderful (Nezushi) AMV. Not only is the arrangement awesome, the music is by one of my favourite artists of all time. I advise you to listen to the lyrics, because they freaking rock.

Enjoy!!

Omg thank you for sharing, I hadn't watched this video yet and I absolutely loved it! Videos with cool effects are nice, but I have a weakness for more simple ones like this who simply tell a story. And now I have a new song to add to my current playlist!
“How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart, you begin to understand, there is no going back?
There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep... that have taken hold.”

I rarely watch AMVs (mainly because I have a very difficult time staying still to listen and watch and my mind wanders off in the middle of everything and I miss what I'm supposed to be paying attention to), but wow, I really love this. A lot.

Aww, that was really nice! *-*

But I have the horrible urge to watch the whole anime again right now. XD

@Vox, Stray Italian Greyhound was the first AMV thesexymaid had ever shown me. It was when we first met, so it already means a lot to me but it's also really good in terms of song choice and editing... gives me feels every time OTL

@thesexymaid, Picture Perfect is a painful song. It's exceptionally painful for NezuShi because.. ahh.. it's so true! It is so fitting for them! That AMV honestly makes me want to cry every single time I watch it. The timing is so good too and I really hate love it ;A;

I also want to share one (no, it's not Hurricane even though I love it okay, that song will always be one of my ultimate NezuShi songs) although it's a quite popular AMV in this fandom... It's just one of my favorites and never fails to inspire me when I am detached and sort of wrapped up in my own world.

This song actually reminds me another one I've heard earlier this year thanks to thesexymaid... It's In Your Room by Depeche Mode and it just gives me the same vibe somehow but I've yet to seen an AMV made with it. Maybe it's the desperation in both songs... Almost as if..  for Shion and Nezumi it's a devastating attraction... like an addiction. It makes them ecstatic and enslaved at the same time. They are helpless in terms of what they are feeling and the vibe is exceptionally strong for Nezumi. I don't know... both these songs just really get to me and I can't easily shake off the mood they put me in, so I wanted to share my feels.

Ah, they are both pretty good. I've never heard the song Elanra posted up to now... I think your explanation is very fitting. But it's depressing...

Hm, I also want to share one of my favs.

Btw. I always like the combination of a song and dialogue.

@thesexymaid:
Yeah, the “touched” lyrics are just perfect. The whole video is perfect. I totally adore it. The song creates a really special atmosphere and I have always some kind of “Kyaaa~ Oh my god!” experience after watching it, the video’s like a trailer which makes you wanna watch everything again and again.

The song you’ve posted gives a pretty uneasy feeling, probably because of the disharmonies every now and then. I’ve never heard that song before. But yeah, it’s also pretty fitting. XD (But depressing… ok, the title works like a warning.)

Ah, this one is also okay. It’s a little bit more positive. XD And I like the song and the dynamic of this video.

Btw… every time I see half-dead Nezumi crawling towards dead Shion something deep inside me dies again and again. (._.)

Omg so much has happened in this thread since I last checked!!

Wait... does this mean you all like Vienna Teng?? Because I could go on about her for centuries. She rocks. I'm waiting for someone to do a sad Nezumi amv or songfic with Blue Caravan.

There's actually another version of this AMV on YouTube, but it doesn't use the entire song. This is the better one by far.

@thesexymaid I think it's interesting how they actually used sound effects in the Picture Perfect amv. I don't see that very often. (Oh wait, Ahiku's amv has it too. But it's pretty cool!) And you're right, the song choice is everything. If the lyrics are no good, it's really hard to appreciate the video editing.

@elanra Love Until We Bleed was just creepy as heck. Brings out all the bad parts of their relationship, in my opinion.

Wow, how did we go from Stray Italian Greyhound to all of this murder? Not that these aren't wonderful amvs, haha. I feel like I missed out on a lot though, haha.

@ahiku YES A THOUSAND MILES omg it's a cover and it's a really good cover???? I'M SO GLAD I STARTED THIS THREAD THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH. Ahiku, you win the amv contest. (Although I retract what I said earlier. It's not a cover. I think they just pitched the song down.)

A lot of Vanessa Carlton songs would be great for No. 6 amvs. Fools Like Me is a great description of Shion. Home and More than This, because he doesn't ask for much. I Don't Want to Be a Bride for Nezumi's feelings, although it would have to be genderbent. Maybe even Hands on Me, if they go on the road together.

Still glad I started this thread. More thanks. So many feels tonight. I'm gonna go write a fanfic. xD

Omg I absolutely love all the AMV you posted. Even those I already knew, "Touched" always was one of my favorites, it's probably one of the first No.6 AMV I saw.

Just like Elanra, I absolutely love the song "Hurricane" for No.6, I actually discovered this song because of a No.6 AMV and it's still one of my favorites and deserves more view I think:

“How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart, you begin to understand, there is no going back?
There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep... that have taken hold.”

All of these are incredible, and I'll have to admit that I never knew half of these even existed. Truly a great source of inspiration here, gonna have to make a playlist or something.

@thesexymaid Just the mention of Poets of the Fall makes me want to cry. Their songs are very emotional and so many of them could be applied to NezuShi. Carnival of Rust and Fade Away are definitely two of my favorites (the former is also in the NezuShi playlist Maid and I've made). I'll occasionally have a certain mood for Poets of the Fall and end up feeling very inspired.

@ahiku, I am also very happy you shared a song by VASTfor them. Flames is one of my favorite songs and Touched was just as good of a choice for the two idiots. Very good AMV indeed and like others before me said, the full version of the song is especially meaningful for them.

I want to share another.. rather popular song for them, although not as much as Hurricane. This AMV is probably in my top five favorites for NezuShi. I love the use of their voices and the novel lines within the video. I love the scenes used (@thesexymaid - this one has your favorite scene in it too) and I love the timing in it. Every time I listen to this, I find myself admiring how fitting the voice of the vocalist of Blessthefall resonates with Nezumi's voice. Upon finishing their lines, the song starts and it's almost as if Nezumi is the one singing. I always, always loved that. I think the AMV definitely deserves the award and attention it received.

@thesexymaid. Thank you so much, this really helps with a lot of things and there's so much here, definitely a lifesaver when it comes to wanting to write or just get back into the feel and the mood for it. I watched a few and.. wow ahah, I could honestly rant on about a few in here because they were incredible. I always found it hard to find No. 6 AMVs on youtube and I didn't realize that there were so many. Also thank you for including some of mine.

It certainly gives more editors to subscribe to as well. Hopefully No. 6 can be edited more within the AMV community as well, I hope. This'll certainly keep me busy anyway, so thank you! Also that Happiest of Men AMV really hits you, I'm gonna try sharing it with some friends and whatnot. Very beautiful.
we only go so far.

@thesexymaid hehe, I know, the story just wouldn't be the same if it weren't so serious. I was just poking gentle fun. I spend a lot of time thinking about the part where Shion shoots the guy in the Correctional Facility, actually... that's one of my favourite scenes, for some perverse reason. Probably because it's such a defining moment for his oft-misrepresented character. Don't worry, I know there's more to the story than just romance. I've read enough lecture-y posts on tumblr to know better. ;)

@yunyen dat hurricane amv... that was really great. thanks for sharing! I love it when an amv uses scenes that I've partly forgotten about. I've only seen the anime once, and 11 episodes is longer than you'd think. Repetition of the same two kisses and single dance over and over just don't really cut it.

@elanra Poets of the Fall, You're Still Here. My God, what a song. I imagine this as a sort of waiting song, for the time between Nezumi leaving and Nezumi coming back, in which Shion simply drifts through the seasons, making mild observations when the weather changes. Besides, Nezumi certainly did leave promises in his wake... I don't know that you could make an amv out of that, but as soon as you said Poets of the Fall, I immediately thought of this.
